Mojang delivered a packed presentation at Minecraft Live March 2026. A brand-new game, a major update, real-world experiences, and even a theme park were all revealed. Here’s everything that stood out.

Minecraft Dungeons II Announced

The biggest surprise of the event was undoubtedly Minecraft Dungeons II. Mojang officially announced the sequel to the original Minecraft Dungeons, confirming it will launch later in 2026.

Minecraft Dungeons II will offer an all-new action RPG adventure set in the Minecraft universe. Players will face high-stakes encounters and thrilling challenges across never-before-seen locations. There will, of course, be plenty of loot — grab it all for yourself or share it with up to three friends in co-op mode.

The game is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, Xbox on PC, and Game Pass.

Chaos Cubed: A Major Update Is Coming

Minecraft’s upcoming major update, Chaos Cubed, was shown for the first time at the event. The update introduces a brand-new biome, new blocks, and a truly unique mob.

Sulfur Caves

The new sulfur caves may look warm and inviting, but they’re far from safe. Get too close to the pools and you’ll experience a strange dizzying effect. Two new block sets are also being introduced: cinnabar and sulfur.

Sulfur Cube: A Block-Absorbing Mob

The update’s most striking addition is the sulfur cube, a new mob that marks a first in Minecraft history: it can absorb blocks, and its attributes change depending on what it consumes.

  • Feed it wood and it starts behaving like a bouncy ball
  • Let it consume ice and it slides around like an oversized hockey puck
  • With the ability to absorb various block types, the experimentation potential is limitless

This mob opens up huge possibilities for both creative builds and chaotic mini-games.

Tiny Takeover: Baby Mobs Get a Makeover

With the Tiny Takeover update, the appearance of nearly every baby mob in Minecraft is changing. Previously just smaller versions of their adult counterparts, baby mobs will now have their own distinct designs — all optimized for one thing: maximum cuteness.

Parties Feature Coming This Summer

The Parties feature is being added to Minecraft Bedrock Edition this summer. With just a few button presses, you’ll be able to form a group with your friends and seamlessly jump between vanilla worlds, Realms, and other content.

Real-World Experiences

Minecraft Experience

Minecraft’s real-world experience, Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue, continues its global tour. It will soon arrive in Herning, Singapore, Mexico City, and Chicago.

An entirely new experience was also announced: Minecraft Experience: Moonlight Trail. This outdoor nighttime adventure takes place in a real forest and will first open in Buenos Aires.

Minecraft World: A Theme Park in London

One of the event’s most exciting reveals was Minecraft World. Mojang is partnering with Merlin Entertainments to create a Minecraft-themed land at Chessington World of Adventures in London. Planned to open in 2027, Minecraft World will feature:

  • The first-ever Minecraft roller coaster
  • The world’s largest Minecraft shop
  • Minecraft-themed food
  • Opportunities to meet the mobs
