Another Price Increase for PlayStation Plus Subscriptions
Sony has announced that it will increase PlayStation Plus subscription fees starting May 20, 2026. The company stated that this decision was made due to “ongoing market conditions”.
The price hike will apply globally only to new subscribers. However, Turkey and India are excluded from this rule. This means that in these countries, the price increase will also apply to existing subscriptions. If an existing subscriber’s term expires or if they make a subscription change, the new prices will take effect.
Global Price Changes
The new prices in the US and Europe are as follows:
| Tier | Duration | Old Price | New Price | Increase |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | 1 Month | $9.99 | $10.99 | 10% |
| Essential | 3 Months | $24.99 | $27.99 | 12% |
| Essential | 1 Month | €8.99 | €9.99 | 11% |
| Essential | 3 Months | €24.99 | €27.99 | 12% |
| Essential | 1 Month | £6.99 | £7.99 | 14% |
| Essential | 3 Months | £19.99 | £21.99 | 10% |
Similar increases are expected for other tiers (Extra and Premium/Deluxe).
The Exception for Turkey and India
The most notable detail is the exception made for Turkey and India. While the price hike in other countries only affects new subscribers, existing subscribers in these two countries will also face the increased prices. No official statement has been made regarding why Sony made this distinction, but it is estimated that the depreciation of local currencies is a factor.
The new prices will take effect starting May 20.
