Arrowhead Game Studios has announced the highly anticipated Machinery of Oppression update for Helldivers 2 is now live. Super Earth’s liberty faces a major threat once again, but this time it comes from familiar faces—the Cyborgs.

Players are dropping into the cold, industrial streets of Cyberstan, the bot homeworld, to dismantle the dark alliance forged between the Automatons and Cyborgs.

Old Enemies, New Threats: The Siege of Cyberstan

According to Super Earth intelligence, the Automatons have seized the Star of Peace schematics and are preparing to use this technology for dark purposes under the Cyborg Legion’s command. The Helldivers’ primary mission has been set: lay siege to Cyberstan’s massive factory cities and halt this production.

With this update, players will battle through industrial complexes filled with hazards at every corner. Objectives include destroying mega factories, toppling statues of war criminals, and demoralizing the Cyborg regime.

Meet the Cyborg Subfaction

Three new and deadly enemy types await players in Cyberstan’s streets:

  • The Agitators: Heavily armored tactical units commanding the Automaton legion in the field. They can control enemy squads and make strategic battlefield decisions.
  • The Radicals: Units that have pushed their bodies to the limit with cybernetic and bio-enhancements, turning themselves into a mockery of humanity. They rush players from every direction for close-quarters combat.
  • The Vox Engine: The Voice of the Cyborg Legion. Piloted by a high-ranking officer, this war machine blares propaganda across the battlefield. Armed with dual laser cannons, rockets, and laser gatlings, it’s designed to annihilate anyone trying to silence its message.

Critical Mechanic: Global Reinforcement Limits

The Machinery of Oppression update introduces a new mechanic that will profoundly impact the game’s strategic structure: Global Reinforcement Limits.

Since sending reinforcements to Cyberstan poses a great risk to Super Earth, resources are no longer unlimited. Throughout the “Battle for Cyberstan,” every Helldiver death will be deducted from a global counter. If the Galactic Reinforcement Counter reaches zero, the battle will be lost.

This mechanic pushes players to stay alive, heal teammates, and use defensive stratagems more strategically. Every life now directly affects the fate of the galactic war.

New Equipment and War Support

As the battle intensifies, Super Earth command has increased its support. Players can utilize the Siege Breakers Warbond, featuring the defensive G/SH-39 Shield. Additionally, the new War Horses armor set is now available in the Superstore.
