Counter-Strike 2 Season 4 is Live: Massive Update

Counter-Strike 2’s highly anticipated Season 4 has officially kicked off. This approximately 8GB update brings two new collections, map changes, weapon balancing adjustments, and numerous improvements to the game.

Premier and Competitive Changes

With the new season, Anubis has returned to the Active Duty map pool after a short break, featuring significant gameplay changes. Conversely, Train has been removed from the active duty pool.

Per-map competitive matchmaking rank values have been adjusted. Existing per-map competitive Skill Groups have been reset and will be displayed again once players reach the required number of wins.

For the Season 4 Medal: To qualify for the medal, you need an account in good standing, 25 Premier match wins, and an active CSR at the end of the season. The color of your medal will be determined by the highest CS Rating you achieve during the season, with a new bar added for every 25 wins (maximum 5 bars).

Weapon Changes

Notable changes have been made to the SMG class:

Jump Mechanics & Movement Updates

Significant updates have been applied to the movement system:

Landing duration is now calculated with subtick precision
Jumping and landing no longer affect stamina
A new calculation system has been added for bunny hopping
Legacy jump behavior can be restored on community servers via the sv_legacy_jump command

New Collections

Two brand-new collections have been added to the Weekly Care Package:

Harlequin – Colorful and vibrant designs
Achroma – Desaturated, black-and-white toned designs

Additionally, the Safehouse, Dust 2, 2018 Nuke, and 2018 Inferno Collections have been removed from the weekly drop list.

Limited Edition Item: AK-47 | Aphrodite

A new Limited Edition item has been added to the Armory: AK-47 | Aphrodite. Adorned with pearlescent accents and an amber patina, this weapon offers variety in both wear and pattern.

New Community Maps

Community maps have been refreshed with the new season:

Removed maps: Golden, Palacio, Agency, and Rooftop have been removed from all game modes.

Anubis Map Changes

Significant gameplay adjustments have been made to Anubis:

Bridge drop moved closer to Mid Doors
Mid doors orientation flipped
A new hole added between E-box and Back of B
Bombsite A crates moved on top of the steps at Walkway
Scaffolding added to Bombsite A pillar

Audio Updates

Major improvements have been made to sound quality and experience:

Audio output latency reduced
Knife draw and inspect sounds replaced with higher quality versions
Sounds no longer overlap when switching weapons quickly
Knife hit sounds now play distinct sounds based on primary/secondary attacks and front/back hits
Ambient sounds no longer restart when transitioning between zones

Visual Improvements

Material quality has been increased for several base weapons:

AK-47, AUG, AWP, Berettas, Deagle
Galil, MAC-10, MP7, P250, TEC-9
USP-S, Bizon, CZ75-Auto, FAMAS, MP9

Other Changes and Bug Fixes

Map guides can now be loaded in casual and retakes online games (via ESC menu)
Voice status behavior fixed when the microphone is open
Deathcam intersection bug fixed
Collision issues with inner edges while sliding along ramps in Surf mode fixed
Minor clipping in Butterfly Knife animations fixed
Issues where blood splatters were not visible have been resolved
