Counter-Strike 2 Spring Update: New Collections and Map Optimizations
Valve has rolled out a non-joke April 1st, 2025 update for Counter-Strike 2, introducing fresh weapon collections and major map overhauls to enhance gameplay.
Armory Updates
The update adds the following to the Armory:
- Train 2025 Collection: Inspired by the revamped Train map, this collection features designs referencing the map’s graffiti and key locations.
- Fever Case: Contains 17 community-contributed weapon skins and Shattered Web knives with Chroma finishes.
- Limited Edition XM1014 | Solitude: Honestly, it looks pretty bad compared to the previous Desert Eagle. (We’re not joking.)
Map Overhauls
The Inferno and Train maps have received critical adjustments to refine player experience.
Key changes to Inferno:
- Banana area expanded to closely resemble its CS:GO counterpart. (This is likely the most impactful change, altering B-site entry dynamics.)
- Simplified visuals for T ramp, Pit, and B bombsite backgrounds.
- Stairs near Arch corridor removed.
- Fixed a pixel gap in the Coffin area.
- Adjusted crates on the balcony stairs for smoother movement.
- Tweaked player and bomb collisions across the map. (Social media is buzzing about bugs where players spawn inside each other.)
Key changes to Train:
- Fixed player shadow visibility through windows near A main entrance.
- Simplified back walls in the Z door corridor.
- Streamlined visuals for Upper B entrance.
- Shortened roof rails on A site for easier utility throws.
- Replaced transparent grating on the Z door catwalk.
- Swapped transparent fences in Ivy with solid versions.
- Simplified brick walls near Ivy.
- Fixed bomb collision on the Upper B arch.
