Initially developed by Crytek and later joining the MY.GAMES portfolio, the free-to-play MMOFPS Warface: Clutch is permanently shutting down its servers. Since its initial launch in 2013, Warface has been a highly popular title, particularly in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Shutdown Dates

MY.GAMES will carry out the shutdown process in two phases:

Platform Shutdown Date
PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) May 27, 2025
Consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch) August 25, 2025

As of February 26, all in-game purchases and payments have been disabled. However, players can continue to use previously acquired content until the servers officially close.

Why is it Closing?

In a statement released by MY.GAMES, the decision was made following extensive internal evaluations. The company intends to reallocate its resources toward new projects and initiatives. The announcement also emphasized deep respect for the community and the game’s long-standing history.

What Should Players Expect?

Refund Process

Refund requests for recent purchases can be submitted through the support services of the platform where the purchase was made:

In-Game Items and Currency

All in-game currency, items, and content will remain available and usable until the servers are shut down. After the closure, access to any in-game content will no longer be possible. Transferring items or progress to another MY.GAMES project is not supported.

Farewell Events

To thank the players during the sunset period, MY.GAMES has announced that it will host special in-game gifts and activities. Additionally, players will receive a promo code for War Robots: Frontiers, another MY.GAMES title, which includes special in-game rewards.

What Happens After the Shutdown?

  • The game will be removed from Steam, Epic Games Store, and console marketplaces.
  • While it may remain in the libraries of those who previously installed it, the game will not be playable as there is no offline mode.
  • The official website will also be taken down.
  • The Discord server will remain accessible for viewing but will no longer be actively updated.
  • There are no plans to relaunch the game or restore the servers in the future.

A Brief History

Warface was first released in 2013 by Crytek, developed on the CryEngine. Over the years, it was serviced under various publishers in different regions. It was eventually rebranded as Warface: Clutch and continued its journey under MY.GAMES. The game reached a vast audience through its wide variety of PvP and PvE modes.

The closure of Warface: Clutch adds another name to the growing list of live service game shutdowns in recent times. Players are encouraged to contact platform support teams for refunds and personal data deletion requests.
