PlayStation State of Play February 2026: All Games Announced and Details

PlayStation excited the gaming world with numerous announcements at its State of Play event held on February 12-13, 2026. This special broadcast, lasting over 60 minutes, featured news from major franchises including God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, and Silent Hill.

God of War: Two Major Surprises

The most striking announcements of State of Play came from the God of War series. Santa Monica Studio revealed that a remake of the original God of War trilogy (God of War, God of War II, and God of War III) is in development. Since the project is still in early development stages, new information isn’t expected anytime soon.

Additionally, God of War: Sons of Sparta, a 2D action platformer developed in partnership with Mega Cat Studios, launched for PS5 alongside the event. The game covers Kratos’ period as a Spartan warrior before becoming a god.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2

Konami finally announced the long-awaited Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2. The collection will launch for PS5 on August 27, 2026. The package includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel as a bonus title. MGS4 being playable on platforms other than PS3 for the first time is a major development for series fans.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse

Konami’s other big surprise was the return of the Castlevania series, which hasn’t seen a new game in over 10 years. Developed by Motion Twin and Evil Empire, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse combines classic 2D action-exploration gameplay with a modern art style. The game will launch this year for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits Sequel Coming

Ember Lab announced Kena: Scars of Kosmora, the sequel to 2021’s Kena: Bridge of Spirits. In the new game, a more experienced Kena explores the mysterious island of Kosmora. Thanks to the partnership with PlayStation Studios, a larger world is promised. The game will launch in 2026 for PS5 and PC.

John Wick Game

Saber Interactive is working with the creators of the legendary action film series to tell a previously unseen story of John Wick. The game aims to make the series’ signature gun-fu scenes and cinematic camera work playable. Release date and official title haven’t been announced yet.

Silent Hill: Townfall

The new entry in the horror series, Silent Hill: Townfall, is being developed by Screen Burn Interactive. The game, played from a first-person perspective, features exploration and puzzle-solving mechanics. A portable CRT TV device in the game will be used both in enemy encounters and to reveal more of the story.

Marathon and Bungie’s Return

Bungie’s multiplayer shooter Marathon will launch on March 5, 2026. However, players can experience the game earlier: an open beta period called Server Slam will run from February 26 to March 2. PS5 players can earn special rewards during this period.

Control Sequel: Control Resonant

Remedy Entertainment shared new gameplay footage from Control Resonant, the continuation of the Control universe. In the game starring Dylan Faden, supernatural powers like running on building sides and fighting gravity anomalies will be used. Set in a version of Manhattan reshaped by supernatural forces.

Resident Evil Requiem Final Trailer

Capcom’s new entry in its iconic horror series, Resident Evil Requiem, launches on February 27. The launch trailer shown at State of Play includes new story hints and action sequences.
