A New Era Begins for Rainbow Six Siege: Siege X and 10th Year Roadmap Announced
Ubisoft has officially announced a major update called “Siege X” for its popular tactical shooter game, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, along with a special roadmap for the game’s 10th year. Siege X is planned for release on June 10, 2025, and players can expect fundamental changes and innovations.
According to the announcement by Ubisoft, “Siege X” will not be a sequel to Rainbow Six Siege but will be presented to players as a comprehensive relaunch and update package, described as the “biggest evolution” in the game’s history. The company stated that with this update, it aims to further strengthen its leading position in the tactical shooter genre.
With Siege X, players can look forward to significant innovations such as improvements in graphics and sound systems, a revamped user interface, an advanced rappel system featuring abilities like rappelling while sprinting, momentum-based movement mechanics, and the ability to inspect weapons up close.
The update will also introduce a new model offering free access to certain game content. Under this model, players will be able to access up to 26 different operators and experience new game modes like “Dual Front.” It was stated that a premium version will be required for access to the full operator roster and competitive modes. It was announced that existing Rainbow Six Siege owners will automatically have this premium access.
Ubisoft also emphasized that with Siege X, it plans to offer a more dynamic and faster content flow with a new operator or a reworked existing operator, three modernized maps, and two major in-game events each season.
