Ryan Hurst to Play Kratos in Prime Video’s God of War Series
Prime Video has revealed the lead actor for the highly anticipated God of War TV series. Ryan Hurst will portray the legendary Spartan warrior Kratos.
From Thor to Kratos
The casting comes with an interesting twist. Ryan Hurst is no stranger to the God of War franchise. The actor previously portrayed Thor, the Norse god of thunder, in God of War: Ragnarok. After playing one of Kratos’ greatest enemies, he will now step into the role of the Ghost of Sparta himself.

Ryan Hurst is a well-known face in television. He earned widespread acclaim for his role as Opie Winston in Sons of Anarchy. He also portrayed Beta in The Walking Dead. Known for his imposing physique and charismatic performances, Hurst appears to be a fitting choice for such an iconic character.

The God of War series is being produced through a partnership between PlayStation Productions and Amazon Studios. The show is expected to adapt the story of the 2018 God of War game, which followed Kratos and his son Atreus on an emotional journey through the Norse realms.
