No Man's Sky is Revolutionized: Build and Crew Your Own Starship with Friends in the Voyagers Update!

No Man’s Sky Celebrates Its Ninth Year With One of Its Biggest Updates Ever: Voyagers!

For nine years since its 2016 launch, No Man’s Sky has continued to deliver a level of post-launch support rarely seen in the gaming industry, all through massive, free updates. Developer Hello Games is honoring that tradition by announcing Voyagers, a game-changing update that introduces perhaps the most requested feature to date: the ability to design and build our very own starships.

For years, one of the biggest dreams for No Man’s Sky players has been to move beyond searching for the perfect ship and instead create one from scratch. With the Voyagers update, that dream is now a reality.

Corvette-Class Ships: Your Dream Space Adventure Begins

At the heart of the update is a new ship class called the Corvette. These vessels are completely modular, allowing you to assemble a unique ship from hundreds of different parts—from the chassis and wings to the engines and cockpit. Whether you want to build a small and nimble exploration craft or a massive, intimidating warship, the choice is entirely yours.

Most excitingly, these ships are no longer just a cockpit. They feature fully explorable and customizable interiors. You can add modules like med-bays, living quarters, combat rooms, and even kitchens, turning your ship into a true home among the stars. Furthermore, with three distinct aesthetic themes available (Titan, Thunderbird, and Ambassador), you can decorate your ship’s interior to match your personal style.

Set Out with Friends: Multiplayer Crews

The new ships are set to overhaul the multiplayer experience. You can now invite your friends to join your ship as a crew and explore the universe together. Accept new multiplayer missions from your ship’s mission radar, and use your vessel as a mobile base of operations while you land on planets to complete objectives.

Pushing New Frontiers: Spacewalking and More

The Voyagers update isn’t just about ship construction. One of the most stunning new mechanics is spacewalking. You can now open your ship’s airlock and step directly into the void of space, floating around your vessel for an encounter with the cosmos like never before.

Other major additions include:

  • Atmospheric Skydiving: Park your ship in a planet’s atmosphere, open the hatch, and leap out for an epic freefall to the surface below.
  • Autopilot: Engage the autopilot for travel to space stations or planets, freeing you up to manage other tasks inside your ship during the journey.
  • New Expedition: A new, limited-time Expedition titled “Corvette” will guide players through building their first modular ship and offer exclusive rewards.
  • Graphical Enhancements: The game’s visuals have been further improved with the latest technologies, including NVIDIA DLSS 4 and PSSR for PlayStation VR2.

Hello Games noted that some of the technology developed for this update was also created for their highly anticipated new game, Light No Fire. This not only hints at an exciting future for No Man’s Sky but also showcases the incredible breadth of the development team’s vision.

To be delivering such a massive, feature-rich, and free update nine years after launch is a monumental achievement. Hello Games deserves all the praise once again.
