007 First Light delayed by two months: New release date set for May 2026
IO Interactive has announced that the release of its upcoming James Bond title, 007 First Light, has been delayed by two months. Previously scheduled to launch on March 27, 2026, the game is now set to release on May 27, 2026.
According to the studio, the delay was made to further improve the overall quality of the game. IO Interactive describes 007 First Light as the most ambitious project the team has taken on so far, aiming to deliver a definitive James Bond experience. The game brings together high-octane action sequences, espionage mechanics, globe-trotting missions, iconic Bond gadgets, and cinematic car chases.
The development team notes that 007 First Light is already fully playable from start to finish. However, the additional two months will be used for polishing and fine-tuning, with the goal of delivering a smoother and more balanced experience at launch.
As an independent developer and publisher, IO Interactive believes this decision will contribute to the long-term success of 007 First Light. The studio also thanked players for their patience and continued support since the game was first revealed.
More information about 007 First Light is expected to be shared in early 2026.
