The Long-Awaited Copper Golem and New Items Are Coming to Minecraft
Minecraft’s developers have just announced a suite of new copper-themed features coming to the game. Headlining the update is the one and only Copper Golem, a fan-favorite mob that, despite winning players’ hearts, famously lost a mob vote years ago.
The Golem’s Comeback: A New Purpose
After losing the 2021 mob vote, the Copper Golem is being added to the game by popular demand, now with a brand-new function. This little guy will help players organize their bases. It will be able to pick up items from a designated Copper Chest and automatically distribute them to other nearby chests, creating an ingenious automated sorting system.
Copper Gets a Major Upgrade
But the update isn’t just about the golem. Players will now be able to craft entire new sets of armor, tools, and weapons from copper. This change finally makes copper—an ore that’s plentiful in the early game but has historically had limited uses—a far more valuable and functional resource.
When Can We Play?
All of these newly announced features—the Copper Golem, Copper Chest, Copper Armor, and Tools—are available for testing right now in the latest beta and preview builds for Minecraft Bedrock Edition. As for Java Edition players, Mojang has confirmed the features will be coming in a future snapshot update.
