Helldivers 2’s New Warbond “Python Commandos” Launches December 2
Arrowhead Game Studios has officially announced the latest Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2: Python Commandos. Set to deploy on December 2, this new package focuses heavily on heavy ordnance and jungle-themed equipment, bringing some serious firepower to the galactic front.
The update introduces several highly requested weapon types from the community, alongside fresh customization options for vehicles.
New Weapons and Stratagems
The Python Commandos pack enhances the Helldiver arsenal with three new stratagems and a unique primary weapon. The star of the show, however, is undoubtedly the minigun.
- M-1000 Maxigun: Added in response to overwhelming community demand, this support weapon stands out as a belt-fed minigun with an ultra-high ammunition capacity, perfect for sustained suppression.
- AR/GL-21 One-Two: A hybrid primary weapon that combines the functionality of an assault rifle and a grenade launcher into a single chassis. While heavy to wield, it offers tactical flexibility by granting players the advantages of two distinct weapon classes simultaneously.
- AX/FLAM-75 “Guard Dog” Hot Dog: A new variant of the existing “Guard Dog” rover drone, now equipped with a flamethrower. This drone incinerates enemies before returning to the player’s backpack for refueling.
- CQC-9 Defoliation Tool: A new melee weapon designed specifically for clearing dense vegetation in jungle environments—or hacking through enemy limbs.
Armor Sets and Passives
Similar to the previous Viper Commandos Warbond, the Python Commandos armors feature designs that leave the Helldiver’s arms exposed. The pack includes one light and one heavy armor set:
- RS-20 Constrictor (Light Armor)
- RS-40 Beast of Prey (Heavy Armor)
Both sets come equipped with the “Rock Solid” passive ability. This perk significantly improves stability by reducing stagger and ragdoll effects during combat, allowing Helldivers to hold their ground more effectively under fire.
Cosmetics and Additional Content
Beyond firepower and protection, the Warbond introduces a suite of cosmetic upgrades. A new camouflage pattern, “Chameleon Camo,” will be available for vehicles, Exosuits, and Hellpods.
The collection is rounded out by new capes (Mark of the Constrictor and Foe Rent Asunder), player cards, and a disciplined new emote: the “Front-Leaning Rest Position” (essentially, the push-up position).
The Python Commandos Premium Warbond will be available on all platforms starting December 2.
