Mecha-Shooter EXOMECHA Re-emerges After 5 Years with New Trailer, Release Window

Mecha-Shooter EXOMECHA Breaks 5-Year Silence with a New Trailer

First announced back in 2020 as a free-to-play title before falling completely off the radar, the sci-fi FPS EXOMECHA has resurfaced with a brand-new trailer. Developer TwistedRed also shared some key details about the game’s new direction.

In a significant pivot, EXOMECHA has dropped its previously announced free-to-play model. Citing the high costs of launching and maintaining online games without a publisher, the development team announced the game will now launch with a $19.99 price tag.

Originally a solo-dev project, the team has expanded to five members over the past few years. To help fund the final stages of development, a Kickstarter campaign has also been launched.

The game is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2026 for PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

What is EXOMECHA?

EXOMECHA is an online sci-fi shooter set on OMECHA, an untouched and exotic planet. The game promises a blend of infantry, vehicular, and, of course, massive mech combat. The announced game modes include:

  • Conquest: A team-based 20v20 battle featuring vehicular combat.
  • Mecha Royale: A 100-player battle royale where you start as an infantry soldier and must survive long enough to call in your own EXOMECHA for the final showdown.

EXOMECHA first caught our eye years ago with its impressive visuals, and it continues to look striking in the latest footage. You can support the developers by wishlisting the game on Steam, the Epic Games Store, or the Xbox Store.
