Dying Light: The Beast Delayed, New September Release Date Announced

Dying Light: The Beast Delayed: New Release Date Announced

The release of Dying Light: The Beast, the highly anticipated new game from developer Techland, has been pushed back. Originally slated for an August 22 launch, the game will now be released on September 19, 2025, according to an official statement.

Developer Techland: “We Need a Little More Time”

Developer Techland explained the reason behind the delay, citing a need to “fine-tune” and add more “polish” based on valuable feedback from recent playtests and preview events. The studio stated this extra four-week period will be used to address the final details that “make all the difference between a good and a great game.”

The development team is specifically targeting improvements in the following areas:

  • Balancing gameplay mechanics
  • Improving the clarity of the user interface (UI)
  • Enhancing the quality of the physics engine
  • Refining cutscenes and player animations for better fluidity

Delay Comes Despite Positive Reception

Techland noted that the game has been previewed over 150 times by press and content creators, receiving overwhelmingly positive comments like “nail-biting survival horror” and a “project with a soul.” Despite this glowing feedback, the studio stressed that they made the decision to honor their promise to deliver the best possible Dying Light experience to the fans.

To keep players engaged during the wait, the studio announced that regular updates will be shared throughout the summer, and a playable demo will be available at Gamescom.
