Death Stranding 2: On the Beach PC Version Moves Closer to Reality
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, developed by Kojima Productions and released on PlayStation 5 in June, appears to be heading to PC sooner rather than later. The game has been officially rated for PC by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), strongly suggesting that a port is in the works.
While no announcement has been made yet, the update isn’t particularly surprising. The original Death Stranding arrived on PC less than a year after its PlayStation debut, paving the way for the sequel to follow a similar pattern.

A Shift in Publishing Strategy: Sony Steps In
One of the most notable details in the ESRB listing is a change on the publishing side. While the first game’s PC release was handled by 505 Games, the PC version of Death Stranding 2 is listed under Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). This points to a more direct, hands-on approach from Sony as it expands its footprint in the PC market.
Eyes on The Game Awards for a Possible Reveal
The original Death Stranding launched on PC approximately eight months after its PS4 release. With the sequel arriving on PS5 in June, the timing now aligns with a potential reveal during The Game Awards, one of the industry’s biggest annual showcases. Kojima’s well-known connection with host Geoff Keighley only strengthens the likelihood of an appearance.
What to Expect from the PC Version
The first game’s PC release included several enhancements and platform-specific features, such as:
- An improved photo mode
- Ultrawide monitor support
- Exclusive crossover content featuring the Half-Life series
Given that precedent, it’s reasonable to expect Death Stranding 2: On the Beach to offer similar upgrades—or perhaps entirely new PC-exclusive features—when the port is officially announced.
