Battlefield 6 Gets a Massive Update as Season 1 Kicks Off!
DICE has just revealed the full details for Update 1.1.1.0, heralding the start of Battlefield 6’s highly anticipated Season 1. Players can expect sweeping changes, balance adjustments, and a host of improvements.
The developer announced that the major update, set to launch the next phase of the game, will be released on Tuesday, October 28. The rollout will happen in two stages:
- 09:00 UTC: Update 1.1.1.0 will go live on all platforms. This download includes all the technical and gameplay changes detailed below.
- 15:00 UTC: All Season 1 content, including the Battle Pass and other seasonal features, will become available for all players who have installed the update.
Between these times, players can update their game and continue playing as normal, but new seasonal content and progression will only unlock at 15:00 UTC.
This update focuses on improving performance, fixing bugs, and smoothing out the overall game experience based on community feedback.
Update Highlights
Here are the most significant changes coming with the new update:
- Movement and Animations: Core movement mechanics like landings, stance transitions, and vaulting have been made much more fluid. “Bouncing” issues that occurred when landing or spawning have been reduced.
- Weapon Balance: Weapon dispersion has been rebalanced. This change aims to provide an accuracy profile that better matches each weapon’s intended role and range. Issues like inconsistent accuracy after sprinting have been addressed.
- Visuals and Lighting: Significant improvements have been made to lighting transitions between indoor and outdoor areas, interior lighting, and the persistence of smoke and fog effects, all aiming for a clearer and more atmospheric experience.
- Audio Engine: The audio has been completely overhauled, from the sound of bullets flying by to explosion and destruction effects. Vehicle and weapon audio mixes have been refined, and haptic feedback has been retuned for various interactions.
- UI & HUD: End-of-round screen bugs have been fixed, new indicators for overtime have been added, and new markers for unlocked weapons and attachments have been introduced.

Gameplay and Soldier Fixes
Numerous bugs affecting player movement and interactions have been fixed and improved.
- Soldier hitboxes, especially for the head and upper body, have been adjusted to better align with the visual models.
- Core movement animations for taking cover, jumping, and climbing have been overhauled and related bugs have been fixed.
- Animation bugs, such as appearing to stand up in third-person view when throwing a grenade while prone, have been corrected.
- Camera jitter and unstable animations when landing have been significantly reduced.

Weapons
- Key Change: Weapon dispersion has been rebalanced across the board. Lower-damage weapons will now see a slightly higher increase in dispersion during sustained fire, while higher-damage weapons will experience slightly less. This will help each weapon perform more consistently within its intended role.
- Using Sniper Rifles with any class other than Recon will no longer increase weapon spread. Instead, weapon sway will now begin during the zoom transition, preserving Recon’s precision advantage.
- Misalignment and visual bugs with weapon sights and attachments have been fixed.
- Reticle settling for automatic weapons has been improved to make burst-firing more effective.
Maps & Modes
- The persistence of smoke and fog effects after destruction has been reduced on all maps to prevent them from obscuring vision for too long.
- Lighting transitions between indoor and outdoor areas have been improved to fix issues with sudden brightness or darkness.
- Numerous bugs on Mirak Valley, Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, New Sobek City, and Manhattan Bridge that caused players to get stuck, go out of bounds, or interfered with objectives have been fixed.
- Visible bomb models have been added to armed M-COMs in Rush mode.
UI, Audio, and Other Improvements
- New markers have been added in the menus for newly unlocked weapons, attachments, and gadgets.
- Preview videos demonstrating how gadgets work have been added.
- Missing footstep sounds when running with the knife equipped have been fixed.
- An issue where directional callouts (e.g., “enemy north”) would report the wrong direction has been corrected.
- Radio chatter can now be heard through controller speakers.
- Audio bugs and sync issues that occurred when deploying bipods, reloading, or using the defibrillator have been resolved.
- Various bugs in the Portal server browser and single-player missions have also been fixed in this update.
