Video Games Coming in January 2026
The first month of the new year is shaping up to be an exciting time for gaming enthusiasts. Here are the major releases expected in January 2026:
January 5 – DuneCrawl
Platforms: PC | Developer: Alientrap Take control of massive, cannon-laden walking crustaceans and embark on adventures across vast deserts. This cooperative action-adventure game inspired by Sea of Thieves can be played solo or with up to four friends. Defend towns, capture enemy vessels, and discover treasures in hand-drawn desert landscapes.
January 6 – StarRupture (Early Access)
Platforms: PC | Developer: Creepy Jar From the creators of Green Hell, an open-world base-building and survival simulation with dynamic disaster cycles.
January 9 – Pathologic 3
Platforms: PC | Developer: Ice-Pick Lodge / HypeTrain In the third installment of the cult classic series, we take on the role of Dr. Daniil Dankovsky arriving in a town besieged by a mysterious plague. The game features time-travel mechanics allowing you to relive and alter key events. You have 12 days to save the town; every choice is crucial.
January 10 – Code Violet
Platforms: PS5 | Developer: TeamKill Media A new action title exclusive to PS5 that generates intrigue with its striking visual style. This will probably be a game heavily mocked on social media.

January 13 – Hytale (Early Access)
Platforms: PC | Developer: Hypixel Studios
After being canceled by Riot Games and then bought back by its original creators, Hytale is finally launching in early access. This sandbox game inspired by Minecraft’s spirit promises powerful modding tools and creative freedom. Developers note this is a “true early access” and the game may not be complete yet.
January 13 – Temirana: The Lucky Princess and the Tragic Knights
Platforms: Nintendo Switch | Developer: ichicolumn / Idea Factory An otome visual novel telling the story of Princess Cecilia, the third princess of the Temirana Kingdom known as the “cursed princess.” With the ability to sense danger beforehand, the princess hires five “Tragic Knights” as her guards. You can progress through five different routes filled with political intrigue, romance, and drama.
January 14 – Streetdog BMX
Platforms: PC | Developer: Yeah Us! Games / Null Games An arcade-style BMX game for fans of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Dave Mirra BMX. Perform acrobatic tricks, chain combos, and customize your bike across expansive maps. Discover countless wallrides, gaps, and ramps across six different maps.
January 15 – Animal Crossing: New Horizons – NS2 Edition
Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2 | Developer: Nintendo The beloved life simulation comes to the new console with expanded content utilizing Nintendo Switch 2’s features.

January 20 – Mio: Memories in Orbit

Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series | Developer: Wildlight Entertainment A new free-to-play PvP raid FPS from Apex Legends and Titanfall developers. Fight for control of a legendary continent as a “Warden.” Announced at The Game Awards 2025, the game was developed in secret for four years.

Platforms: PC, PS5 | Developer: The Game Bakers A “survival climber” with realistic climbing mechanics from the creators of Furi and Haven. Experience Aava’s story as she attempts to be the first to reach the summit of the legendary Mount Kami. January 30 – CODE VEIN II
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, PC | Developer: Bandai Namco The sequel to the series known as “Anime Dark Souls.” A new threat called Luna Rapacis is turning Revenants into monsters. Travel back in time with a girl named Lou who can manipulate time to prevent the world’s collapse. Dynamic action filled with time-travel mechanics and enhanced vampire abilities awaits you.
